About

From telecom operations to OSS assurance.

I am most comfortable when there is a problem to understand, a service to recover or a process that can be improved. More than 17 years in telecom operations have taught me to stay methodical under pressure, understand how the whole system fits together and share what I learn with the team.

What I do now.

At Vodafone, this way of working now applies to OSS assurance. I joined the operation as it was moving in-house, which meant first learning how Netcool, Infovista, FNT, Cramer and Checkmk were configured, documenting that knowledge and helping define the support processes. Today, I investigate problems across the applications, their databases and more than 50 VMs. When a fault becomes recurrent, I try to move beyond the immediate recovery and find a more permanent or automated response.

The path here.

I started in telecom operations in 2009, monitoring alarms and investigating incidents. At Nokia Siemens Networks, I progressed from technician to analysis-team coordinator and fault manager.

In 2013, I joined Vodafone’s Atlantic NOC in Portugal. I first supported Vodafone UK operations and later Vodafone Spain’s 2G–5G RAN. Along the way, I built internal tools for ticket assignment, RAN planning, node migration and reducing network energy use.

How I approach the work.

  • Following a problem across application, database and infrastructure layers
  • Turning recurring problems into permanent fixes or automation
  • Documenting what I learn so the team can reuse it
  • Explaining technical issues clearly to the people involved

What I am learning next.

The direction I want to keep developing is a natural extension of this work: automation, observability, platform operations and cloud-native technologies. I am building practical Kubernetes skills while keeping a clear distinction between what I am learning and the tools I already use professionally.

What education added.

I pursued both degrees alongside my work in operations: a four-year degree in Computer Science and Business Management, completed with 16/20, and a Master’s in Digital Technologies for Business, completed with 17/20.
